Using Photoshop evaluation

This is an original image i wanted to use however it is not professional enough like this to use in the magazine. With the help of photoshop i was able to change this.
I used this process with all of my images to make the magazine look asthetically better.

Double page spread.

My double page spread uses images that are of the a person i have used throughout so it shows what is appealing throughout the magazine. and it shows what i am trying to attract people with.

This is used in the magazine industry to show what the main stories are and what the magazines want to use to attract people.

Like with the contents page the colour scheme and the fonts ext are the same. I used colums, and large quotes to make it professional so it seems like it could be an article in a real magazine.

Contents Page.

This is my contents page i decided to do a double page as this is what most music magazines do. It makes the layout less squashed and looks better for more images to be added this all adds to what people will be attratced to.

I have images of the people i have used in the front cover however they are different this makes more of a variety for the audience to look at.

I have kept with the same colour scheme and fonts throughout the magazine so it looks more professional and fits in with what acctual magazines use.

Final Front cover.

This is my final front cover. As you can see i have used some of the same ideas as i did in the mock front cover yet there are many changes.

I felt the main image of the last one was not as eye catching as the dominant images in this version. The colour scheme of the wrighting and the font have not changed but as the background colour is different then it makes it look better.

I have made the masthead larger and the tags and puffs are smaller so it fits in with the convensions and style of a magazine more. This way it looks less like a leaflet.

I have Used more images in this one and all are my own original images which i have croped and changed in Photoshop and uploaded onto the page.

Mock front cover!

This is a first attempt of a front cover for my music magazine. Once i had finished my research and planning I new what i wanted in the magazine so the content was easy to decide on however there were a few problems with this font cover.

Due to copy right infringments i could not use the image on the right of rihanna, this caused a problem because i did not know what to use to fill the space here.

I was also quite unhappy with the overall layout of the front cover:

• The page seems to look like more of a leaflet then a front cover to a music magazine.
• I like the main images but i this the backfround is too bland and boring i dont feel and audience would be that attracted to it.
• I didn't feel that this was what i was looking for in a front cover yet it did help me to decide what i wanted and what i needed to change.

So once i had established the pro's and con's of this i was ready to make my final front cover.

Prelim

This is the front cover I produced for the prelim task.

Compared to what I have produced in the Course work i realise this is a really poor attempt at a front cover for a magazine for a number of different reasons. It does not look professional enough.

At first I found it hard to use photoshop so this was created in Microsoft Power point. However once I did understand photoshop I realised that it is much easier to create something that looks professional and it can be edited to a higher quality.

Hi everyone im Lucy Potts.
The magazine I have produced is called 'Hip-Hop Classics'. As you may have guessed by the name it is a magazine based on Hip-Hip music.

My target audience has been based on a multi-sex audience aged between 15 and 19. Within my magazine I have added gossip about artists in the hip-hop industry, new hip-hop music and upand coming artists and a number of other features to attract my audience.
